Actress Countess Vaughn Opens Up on How Lace Front Wigs Left Her Balding and Scarred

Actress Countess Vaughn ("Moesha," "The Parkers") appeared on a recent episode of The Doctors to detail how an allergic reaction to the glue used to secure her lace front wigs caused balding and scalp discoloration.

Countess recalls that once she began to see the symptoms she waited six months before seeing a dermatologist. Eventually, the root cause of discovered, but the damage had already been done.

Though the easy and versatility of wigs and weaves appeals to those of us who like to change our styles frequently. We do need to make sure we're doing so conscientiously. Sacrificing a healthy hair and scalp aren't worth fleeting beauty.
