Three Bloggers Join Forces to Name Their Must-Haves for Fall

by Germanee Gerald, Brittany Curry and Joelle Meaghan

Every season calls for new trends and wardrobe staples. This fall, three style bloggers from across the country -- Germanee, Brittany, and Joelle -- rounded up to their nine fall must-haves that your wardrobe needs this season! These ladies all graduated from NC State’s College of Textiles and are all pursuing their dreams in the fashion industry while maintaining style blogs in their free time. Below, they share how they style this season’s hottest trends and how to incorporate them into your every day looks:

Germanee Gerald of The Prada-G, San Francisco, CA
A Floppy Hat
Nothing signals fall like a great wool floppy hat. It’s easy to dress up or down and perfect to throw on for those not-so-great hair days. You can’t go wrong with a traditional black or tan, or to go the road less traveled, try grey or an unexpected pop color like oxblood or navy!

A Good Full/Midi Skirt
Pleated, Fitted, Flounced, or Suede, a full or midi skirt is the go-to bottom this season. Its unique length is both work appropriate and on trend. You can pair it with your favorite ankle boots, flats, or heels for whatever look your "sole" desires.

The Long Statement Jacket/Vest
The statement vest is just that--it makes a statement without being too fussy. I say vest because Fall is SF’s summer, but a jacket works just as well! Whether printed or solid it adds a little extra *ummph* to a casual or monochromatic outfit.

The Bomber Jacket
This season the boys are back and the bomber is the perfect way to show off your feminine side. The bomber is so versatile, which is what I look for when buying great statement pieces. You can pair it with dresses, skirts, high- waist jeans, or practically anything, which is what makes my first choice the epitome of cool.

A Mini Skirt or Dress
Welcome to the itty-bitty mini committee! Minis are all in this fall so you have to join the club. I love the ribbed look because there are so many ways to dress it up or down. Whether you pair it with sneaks, heels, or booties, you'll definitely want to swing into the season with something on the shorter side! Of course black is a cool choice, which is why this black ribbed mini made my essentials list.

Suede
Suede is popping up everywhere from shoes, to skirts, to jumpsuits, and tops. If you’re really feeling suede this season, go for more stand-out items like a suede skirt or top. I'm a simple girl so hints of suede work perfectly for me! New Balance continues to rise so my white and blue NB sneakers definitely made the Fall Lineup.

The Plaid Boyshirt
I hope this staple never goes out of style! Keeping with modern trend, I opted for the oversized boyshirt style for a loose, comfy, and effortless look. The longer hem is perfect for leggings and sneakers on a chill day, but also ideal for a half tuck in high-rise denim with booties.

Ankle Boots
Whether in leather or suede, these are an absolute must-have for your fall shoe closet! The typical heel height of booties is just enough to work for a business casual dress code, but not necessarily too low for a night out with friends. For added versatility, pick up a pair in a good fall neutral--like grey or brown. To make a statement, go for a deep burgundy or army green.

Calf Hair Pumps
There's something innate about fur that makes you feel 'grown' just for having it in your wardrobe. It adds a little touch of sass and glamour to an otherwise typical work outfit. I love a good leather pump, but calf hair is extra special and specific for the Fall/Winter seasons! These kinds of shoes do err on the pricier side, but I was able to snag mine on sale at Madewell for around $70 late last year. Leopard print seems to be most common in this style, but I love the subtle sheen it provides as a solid color!
