Janelle Monaé has been making us dance for years with her soulful records, but 2016 is her breakout year as an actress. Not only will she star alongside Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer in next month's Hidden Figures, but she has a small part in the one of the year's best-reviewed films, Moonlight.
Ms. Monaé has been sticking to her signature color palette on the red carpet, but she still manages to give us pleasant surprises. At last night's Gotham Awards, she unveiled freshly pressed hair. Of course, Ms. Monaé's locks look healthy with body for days.
We, of course, don't care how she chooses to wear her hair. It's just nice to see the Electric Lady having fun with her style.
