The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is more than a parade of utterly unattainable bodies. This year the show featured a handful of gorgeous Black models, and one of our favorites, Maria Borges, was front and center.
The 24-year-old Angolan model showed off her close-cropped cut and astonishingly long legs at one of the world's most famous display of lingerie. Last year Borges changed the game when she became the first Angel to rock natural hair on the runway.
She told Glamour that hair remains a source of anxiety for Black models. “I’ve met so many other girls who think it’s scary, or if they change their hair, they won’t feel beautiful anymore,” she said. “So I said, you know what, I want to show women that anything’s possible. You can still look beautiful with short hair.”
