Jourdan Dunn Sounds Off on Fashion Industry Racism in Miss Vogue

 photo missvogue.jpg
23-year-old British supermodel Jourdan Dunn covers the March 2014 issue of Miss Vogue (Think of it as British Vogue's younger sister).

In the issue, Jourdan doesn't keep mum about the overt discrimination Black models face in the fashion industry. Jourdan is clearly not interested in being a token on the runway.

"I don't know why people applaud designers for having just one ethnic model. It's not like only one type of woman loves fashion," she told the magazine.

"I find it weird when [model] agents say, 'You're the only black girl booked for the show. Isn't it great?' Why is it great?" she adds.

Dunn's comments highlight the need for greater includion of Black women and men in mainstream fashion circles but also the continued need for Black publications and outlets that celebrate our beauty.

The photo was shot in Venice Beach California.
