Ava DuVernay is always repping for Black women, so it's no surprise that she rocked a Black woman designer over the weekend to the Rush Foundation's Art for Life Gala in New York. She paired the Chen Burkett skirt with simple t-shirt for a chic look.


Ava is wearing the Mel Maxi skirt. It's currently out of stock but retails for around $150.
Chen Burkett is a New York based designer born in Antigua. Chen Burkett New York makes clothing for children and adults with lush African prints, and it's no wonder DuVernay and her stylist chose this beautiful piece.
